Sonoma County Rap Artist: G Dubious aka Gerald Wheeler

There's nothing like a pandemic to make you take a seat (or several) and reflect. For me, the time away has shed light on how much love I have for my community. And now more than ever, I feel a personal responsibility to our local businesses, organizations, and artists. From our cities to the hillside, Sonoma County is brimming with individuals who make our home wholly unique.

As our lives continue to adjust to the "New Normal," the Local Spotlights series will introduce you to some of those people. Sitting down on a Zoom call (with, of course, a glass of wine in hand), I get to ask questions about their craft, contribution's to our local culture, and most importantly, what their community can do to support them during this uncertain time.

Sonoma County Rap Artist: G Dubious aka Gerald Wheeler

Joining me for my first interview was a good friend of mine, a local rap artist named Gerald Wheeler, aka G Dubious. Gerald was born and raised in Santa Rosa, and was a resident of Coffey Park prior to the Tubbs fire. He was inspired to create music from early on, and uses his performances to encourage others to more deeply understand themselves (and also you know, go drink some Henny).

Gerald is deeply grateful for those who have shaped him as an artist, and attributes his inner strength to our community.
